Thanks for using ReportedPD to submit feedback about police to help improve police-resident relations.

ReportedPD lets you report positive and negative police interactions. Users can commend officers on a job well done. Or, if the interaction is negative, explain what the officer(s) did and provide feedback as to what they would have liked the officer to have done instead.

ReportedPD aims to create a comprehensive data source and feedback loop for police departments and other agencies to help identify where policing and police-citizen relations might be improved. It also helps increase police accountability in a positive way while giving a platform to citizens who may need to express emotions/stories in a place other than social media.

** Supported by a grant from Civic Hall Labs in NYC.

Report an Officer:
If youve had an interaction with a police officer that involved excessive force, abuse of authority, discourteous conduct and/or offensive language, you can report it with ReportedPD.
- Select from a list of 50 common allegations that apply (such as "pointed gun at me" or "threat of arrest")
- Describe what happened, where and when
- You can report as a victim, witness or as an advocate on behalf of someone else (and identify the nature of your relationship)
- Optionally identify the officers involved
- Optionally add photos and videos of the incident along with captions to help explain the media
- Optionally tell us what you think *should* have happened instead
- If you want your report investigated by your citys independent complaint review board (virtually all cities have this, they are agencies that investigate police misconduct and are not affiliated with the police department), just toggle yes and well submit your report on your behalf.
- If you want to share your story (without personal information) to the community feed, just toggle yes to make the report public

Commend an Officer:
If you experienced, witnessed or heard about an interaction with a police officer that was noteworthy in a positive way, you can commend an officer.
- Select from a list of common commendations that apply (such as "de-escalated the situation" or "resolved an issue")
